School websites can be a lot of fun. This is just a few ideas that I put
together. You can use these or be creative and add a few of your own!
- Have the kids draw pictures for various pages in your website. For
example, scan a picture that a child drew to portray band at your
school and use that picture as an icon for the band page. Or have the
kids in your class draw a picture of the classroom or of the teacher
as the icon for the class page. Do this for all of the pages on your
site to add your personal touch!
- For older students, have them create a custom logo or design for
your website. We can integrate any design that your students come up
with.
- Kid's say the funniest things! So add them to your website! Add
funny stories that relate to the page. For example, if something funny
happened at the last football game, add a short blurp about it! And
for class pages, teachers can keep parents smiling by adding a short
blurp about something funny that was said or something funny that
happened in class that week!
- Add funny stories about the staff, teachers, alumni, parents and
principal! Everybody likes to laugh!
- Pictures, pictures and more pictures! What better way to show what
your school is all about! Don't bog down any one page with too many
pictures. Be tasteful and be sure to get a Parent Consent
form signed for each student in the picture.
- Share class projects online. This includes adding the project
outline so parents can fully appreciate what went into creating the
final outcome.
- Share artwork and creative writing.
- Add information about the area where your school resides. Let
students educate the world about where they live through art or
writing. Even something as simple as the lizards that inhabit the
landscape at your school that the kids catch at playtime is a great
addition to your site.
- Add information about your Business Partners. This can be made fun
by having kids draw or write good things about your business partners.
Not only is this fun, but this can add profitability to your
website.
